US equity markets finished higher today despite their European peers finishing down on the final day of this week’s trade. Nine out of the ten sectors in the S&P finished higher with telecommunications the laggard, weighed upon by Best Buy who finished lower by over 9% after it was reported that former chairman Schulze was said to be exploring a buyout for the company. Tenet Healthcare was the best performing stock today, finishing up 5% after positive bank notes on hospital stocks and after yesterday’s company presentation at Credit Suisse. Notably for tech giant Apple today, volume was at the highest since March 14th as the stock nears USD 500 to the downside. Finally the DJIA finished up 0.37% at 12588.31, the S&P 500 finished up 0.48% at 1359.88 and the NASDAQ 100 finished up 0.39% at 2534.16. For the week the DJIA finished down 1.77%, the S&P 500 finished up 1.45% and the NASDAQ 100 finished down 2.50%
