Philips (PHIA NA) says will take provision of EUR 509mln in Q4 to cover EU fine

- Co. earlier said that it planned to appeal a European Commission fine for violating competition rules in the cathode-ray tubes industry.
- The EU Commission earlier stated: Philips, LG Electronics, Samsung SDI and three other firms were fined a record EUR 1.47bln by EU antitrust regulators for fixing prices of cathode-ray tubes in two cartels lasting nearly a decade.
