- Despite the dip that we saw earlier in the session, hitting a low of 1.2869, after comments from German chancellor Merkel said that she doubts the EU will reach an agreement at this meeting and expects a second summit next year to resolve the budget, we have recently seen a bounce in EUR/USD which has pared the earlier move, this bounce has been attributed to short covering.
