WTI crude futures closed the session in minor negative territory, breaking through the key psychological level of USD 96.00 to the downside. However, despite comments earlier in the week of excess supply in the US, WTI crude futures ended the week with small gains, up USD 0.32 or 0.3%. As a reminder, earlier in the week there were reports the Jones Creek refinery was at full capacity and Seaway had asked shippers to make alternative shipments. Today, Enterprise announced that Seaway pipeline throughput was not affected by the restrictions at the Jones Creek refinery.
