China to release urbanization plan around March, according to media reports
- The development plan for urbanization drafted by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance and other ministries is expected to be debut around March when the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Cosultative Conference are held.
- The plan will cover more than twenty urban agglomerations, 180 prefecture-level cities and over 10,000 towns across China.
- In order to better implement the urbanization plan, China will accelerate the construction of railway, roadway, waterway, airport, oil and gas pipelines, and urban transport infrastructure.
- The government will also raise land acquisition compensation in rural areas and reform land management system to remove urbanization obstacles.
